Museum

Mission Statement
The Museum’s mission is to interpret the development of the Raritan River Valley from prehistoric time to the present, utilizing transportation as the connecting theme. The structure itself typifies the socioeconomic mores of the American experience and the collection provides a microcosm of impacts attributed to modes of travel on American history.

Programs and Services
The Fellowship for Metlar House, a foundation formed in 1979 to preserve and protect the historic Metlar/Bodine house, offers a wide range of programs and services to the public; guided tours of the museum/collection, lectures, reenactments, seminars, antiques and gift shop.
