Explore Piscataway's Past

One of America's Oldest Communities

Founded in 1666, Piscataway is among the 50 oldest communities in the United States.

The original township once encompassed nearly 300 square miles and included areas that later became New Brunswick, Plainfield, Somerville, and portions of Middlesex and Somerset Counties.

From Native American trails and colonial settlements to canals, railroads, and modern highways, Piscataway's story mirrors the development of America itself.
